Chevrolet is looking beyond the USA for 6th Gen sales. It will be a global Chevrolet which is good for all Camaro enthusiasts. It means there will be sufficient R & D funding to deliver cars with superior performance to the current 5th Gen.

Smaller
More engine options
Direct Injection
Turbos

No need to panic. The 6th Gen will absolutely have V8 engine options.

If this is the case, I'll seriously be considering trading up. Of course, we'll have to get Dana the Tahoe first...BUT....

TaylorRyanSS 06-22-2012 10:30 AM

How many times is the thread title gonna change lol

AZCamaroFan 06-22-2012 11:28 AM

looks nice, but i have to believe it'll be more different from the current car than that.

njmike 06-22-2012 12:11 PM

looks like my wheels on there

doc7000 06-22-2012 12:12 PM

I actually believe that its going to use many of the styling cues from the 140S, however will have similar proportions to the current Camaro.

Grandeos 06-22-2012 12:15 PM

Nope. Thanks, but try again. Not so literal....

Cam#7 06-22-2012 12:18 PM

Absolutely love it !!!! If the Z/28 has to wait till Gen6, this is CAM#8.

JMAN311 06-22-2012 12:22 PM

That concept rendering is awesome. I've had it in my mind that the ZL1 is temporary, and I plan to trade it in on the 2nd model year of the new 6th gen. If the car looks anything like that rendering I can't wait.

Nobody gives a crap about V8 engines if they drop the ball on styling. You can make a Yugo go fast, but there is little to be done for it in the way of its looks.

That top concept looks like a bar of soap with wheels while the bottom one is alright, I guess. Either way, neither of them really scream Camaro.

GM is doing the same thing as Ford, but they're both going to lose a lot of enthusiasts by stripping the Mustang and Camaro of their American styling cues to cater towards an audience that has totally different tastes than us. If what you post is true, then I'll be heavily disappointed. If, however, it ends up looking like the render in the first post then you can sign me up, because that thing is sweet.

I wouldn't buy a Gen 6 if they came out like that. It looks nothing like a Camaro at all. I don't care if they want to sell cars to European markets, just don't ruin a classic to do so.

OmniCamaro 06-22-2012 12:51 PM

Looks like a mustang to me. Thumbs way down!

Yep, its called heritage. I do not see a major redesign coming for 2015. I think this is perfect... still kinda what we have now, but even cooler. They did it with the Mustang. In 2020 they can do a complete redesign.

2020 is waiting waaaay too long.

Remember that Camaro is transitioning to an all-new platform for the 6th gen. That will probably bring with it a brand-new design.

LS3 is dead. Gen Vs are coming next year.

RallyYellowPlease 06-22-2012 01:01 PM

So, how far away are we from seeing real pictures? The 5th gen had a concept made by the time the Transformers movie came out (2007). Three years before it's release in 2010.

If it's coming out in 2015, shouldnt they have a concept built already? I wonder when we'll get some real pictures.

Neither of the above are Camaro Concepts... they are concepts marketed by Chevy for a younger audience... In fact right now there is a poll going on that you can vote to decide which one you like better. The top, is a FWD platform the bottom is RWD. Both will most likely have Chevy's 2.0 Ecotec motor possibly with a Turbo.. or something similar.

I'll find the site and post it here in a few... just trying to finish my lunch.

midnighter 06-22-2012 01:03 PM

I like the Camaro rendering. The other 2 concepts, not for me.

CamaroBelarus 06-22-2012 01:03 PM

Where is a muscle car on a picture? I see a Civic.

I am just basing it off what the Mustang did. 2005-2009 then 2010-2014 the facelifted version. I know it's switching platforms but I still want it to keep a similar style to what we have now. The design of the 5th Gen got lots of praises and I hope GM remembers that when they are making the 2015.

I'm 22 so if they are marketing those concepts towards me, they failed. But I'm not the average 22 year old, so those designs may work for other people my age.
