Official 6th gen Camaro FACTS Thread

This thread is for posting known facts about the 6thgen Camaro. Post what you know with a link proving it.

FACT—The 6thgen Camaro will be built in Lansing, Michigan alongside its Alpha platform mate the Cadillac ATS (GM).

Things we can reasonably expect (NOT FACTS):
  • available 8-speed automatic
  • LT1 engine (SS model)
  • turbo-4 (competes directly with Ford turbo-4 Mustang and imports)
  • evolutionary styling
  • significant weight reduction

Additional facts provided by SuperSound! Appreciate the help! Will edit when I get to a PC to clean up the post. As of 4/27/15

Confirmed, the 6th gen will have an engine!

CamaroKid300 05-14-2013 11:06 PM

Fact, the 6th Gen Camaro will not be a 5th Gen Camaro.

Damn we are all smartasses.

AmericanMuscleCars 05-14-2013 11:12 PM

Fact, the 6th gen will not even be the 7th or even 8th gen!!

Wizard1183 05-15-2013 06:44 AM

Fact: It will be called a......... CAMARO!

fsusmithc2 05-15-2013 08:11 AM

Fact: Some will like it, some will hate it, some will think it is just ok. Entire threads will be created for each opinion, multiple times over.

Fact: The integrity, masculinity, intelligence, etc., of people who bought a V6 (or, gasp, a 4-cyl), auto, or heaven forbid both will still be questioned by those with nothing better to do.

Fact: Somebody will mount 30"+ rims on it and we'll have several threads discussing the same pictures and why/how someone would do that to a Camaro.

Fact: A bunch of people will take a thread asking for 6th gen fact collection and crack wise all over it instead. :sorry:

Apex Motorsports 06-14-2013 04:01 PM

It has been confirmed that the 6th Gen will be built on the Alpha platform. Also, unless something has changed it is supposed to be available in 2015 as a 2016 model.

Dirtdog 06-14-2013 04:55 PM

Fact: :NotHeadlights: of the 6th Gen:D

2SSRSinBama 07-22-2013 11:31 PM

fact: I pay my car off in 2015

fact: this won't be my last "new" camaro, lol

Brian 1LE SS 07-23-2013 03:14 AM

It will come in white, red and black.

meissen 07-23-2013 07:18 AM

Glad to see a thread which otherwise could have been useful has been trolled to death. Sure it's early in the rumor mill lifecycle, but c'mon guys...

Can a mod clean this thread up?

fsusmithc2 07-23-2013 08:23 AM

I believe the joke here is that there really aren't many facts about the 6th gen yet. We know it'll be on the Alpha platform, built in the US, and it'll be here in 2015 (and even that might not be a fact). If that's all we could talk about, this thread wouldn't be more than two posts long.

Any new info will be posted in 4 or 5 different threads anyway but the mods (including the OP himself) are certainly free to remove any and all of our silly posts if they wish.

With Detroit going into bankruptcy now what will happen

Lansing isn't in Detroit...

fsusmithc2 07-24-2013 11:31 AM

GM HQ is in Detroit but still, it's the city government that is bankrupt, not every business and person in it, though city employees might be soon.

OldScoolCamaro 07-24-2013 09:14 PM

....Michigan State law dictates that the pensioners will be covered. This is a test case for other cities and potentially municipalities afflicted by the same problem to watch closely and follow suit down the road. Depending on the outcome....

FLGator75 07-30-2013 09:00 PM

No news apparently is good news...

TannerJPowell 11-01-2013 02:33 PM

Agree on cleaning this one up. There's one, MAYBE two substantial posts at this time.

No reason that the next substantial post should have to be on the 2nd page.

Also delete my post when cleaning! :threadjacked:

DaFisch 11-01-2013 07:15 PM

Fact: Their will be a steering wheel, a break pedal, and gas pedal. Some will have the option for a clutch pedal as well.

The_Blur 11-02-2013 10:57 AM

I've decided to come back to this thread for a visit. Some posts were removed, but I'm not going to issue any infractions for having a little harmless fun.

Just heard that 6th Gen will indeed have a Flux Capacitor option.

Apex Motorsports 11-20-2013 07:19 AM

Al O: No 4 bangers in the 6th Gen Camaro.

i agree. a DOHC TT V6 would be pretty sweet. i mean they already have it in the Caddys....why not the Camaro?

GroundhogSS 11-26-2013 04:20 PM

Most people seem to think it will have the LT1. I have no problem with that. I suspect many people won't like the tail lights. It may be 2015 before I can get one so I'm hoping for an outstanding design.

WATCHER 11-29-2013 03:11 PM

Fact: the Cadillac ATS COUPE will be built at the same place.

FiLTHy PHiL SS/RS 02-03-2014 11:07 AM

Fact...
I will take one for free and ride the piss outta it and may even give a review of it.

Because it won't out perform the LT1 in horsepower, torque or fuel mileage.

oneredry 02-11-2014 12:17 PM

Well I have a very good hunch that they will make a I4 option. But for certian a v6 and two varients of 8cyl.

honestly thats pretty much the case with the current V6 Vs the LS3. i mean i get 25MPG on the highway according to my DIC.

Wizard1183 02-24-2014 02:10 PM

Well IF they make an I-4, here's another FACT: I-4 vs V8 threads!:pound:

Seriously though. I see the demise of the Camaro by 2025.
