Finally got a 2023 1SS

After much anticipation, and after leasing an LT1 from 2021, I finally got to finance a brand new 1SS. With interest rates being so high, does anyone think I’m completely insane for financing at 94k over 7 years on a car that’s $62k? I need feedback from other owners. It’s my dream car.

Should I also get the AFM disabled right off the bat?

What rate did you get? 94k for a 62k car is a bit much. If rates come down hopefully you will be able to refinance.

As far as AFM I don’t see the need for it but to each his own but I would wait a little while.

It was 8.79% APR. I probably will refinance once my credit improves and interest rates drop. I don’t have bad credit though, it just wasn’t perfect.

WHAT!

You are already upside down on that loan and will have to put money down to refinance it at a lower rate.

Those numbers are wacky. $62k for a 1SS is super high. At that interest rate for 72 months, it shouldn't total $94k.

Forgot to say "Congrats" on your new SS. Enjoy the ride.

To be honest this was my first time ever financing a car, I’m 28. It was marked up from $57k to $61k after tax, then total financed was $69k. Finance charge ended up being like $24k. In my head I figured I could just make extra principle payments to work down the interest and eventually refinance. It was like 2 days later and they called me up saying they were suppose to install a carbon fiber high wing spoiler and want me to go back in for it. I’m beyond happy I have the car I want, beyond depressed about the interest.

I know the feeling. Enjoy the car and don't let the financing get you down. Got pics?

Don't feel bad OP- in 1981 I bought a new car financed thru GMAC at 16.1% :confused0068: Best rate in town and I had a good credit rating, a job and a trade in! Its all relative.
Refinanced after a couple years and bought a new car and a motorcycle. All's well that ends well! Congrats on the new car!
