I'm trying to determine if i should book all four nights (17th, 18th, 19th, 20th) at the Ramada or find a hotel closer to Woodward Ave on the 19th?

I guess if there is a big caravan going back and forth between the Host hotel and Woodward then I'd just stay at the host hotel each night and join the group!

That's the big question on my mind as well and I'm thinking I need to decide what to do fast while there's still rooms available.

The Ramada is large and there should be plenty of rooms available although prices may go up as we get closer. Right now they are around 95.

Most are booking Wed and Thurs nights. Then off to Detroit on Friday and Saturday so you can book pretty much anywhere or just stay at the Ramada. Others may chime in with ideas on where we all want to try and get but for the main event at the Camaro Plant the Ramada is the place. If you want something a bit nicer and close to the Ramada then the Fairfield Inn & Suites is a few blocks away.

That makes me feel a little better. Thanks for the info mlee. Any other ideas, especially for Detroit, are certainly welcome.

Not being from that area, I'm hoping some of you guys can help figure out the last couple of days.

Going back to the Ramada might be good as well so we can all hang in the parking lot some more or if someone knows a good hotel around Woodward lets jump on it.

$95 is a nice price. I looked at some others and you get up into $150! They know it is an event filled weekend. Prices reflect this.

They had no idea this was coming but there is a college event going on that filled up one of the other hotels we really wanted.

The Ramada is a bit old but has a large parking lot which is always key for us.

If you call I'm pretty sure a lot of folks can get the $89 rate.

<<<< staying in Lansing at the Ramada until Sunday then HOME bound :) I'll go up peek around Detroit then Back to Lansing :)

We could gate crash Milford Proving Grounds. 40 Camaros racing around....that would be kool.

8 hours? Do you only take back roads, because I can get to Detroit in about half that time -including stops & the border. And its not 4 hours from here to Buffalo. Sure, its a bit longer going along the southern shore of Lake Erie compared to cutting through Canada ... but its not twice as long.

It's 8 hours from me to Gingerman/South Haven.

About 4.5 to Detroit through Canada.

would this one hotel work for all the events? Like if I am planning on doing the HPDE at Gingerman and then the rest of the events, is it feasible for me to just stay at this one hotel?

BradfordCamaro 06-30-2016 05:00 PM

That is what I did.
Yes, it's a 1.5 hour drive to the track wednesday morning...but you are staying where all the action is.

edit: sorry....closer to 2 hours....
