2.0 should run 13.9s , after reading this test.

2016 CTS 2.0T AWD, with the same new 8 speed automatic, 3916 lbs.
5.8 - 0-60
14.5 - 1/4 mile

The Camaros 2.0T will have a different, performance ECM calibration.
So, without the AWD, & being much lighter, I believe that high 13s, will
result.
Add the new ZZP EFR 7163 turbo, with slicks, = high 11s in the 1/4 mile...:)

My, how far we have come, with V8 performance, from a 4 banger...:hail:

I remember when I was so happy, when my new bone stock 1998 Z28, LS1 automatic, cracked into the 13.9s
So a Gen4 LS1 automatic = Gen6 2.0T

I'm not sure one tire spinning can get enough grip to propel the car to a 13.9, it would be nice.

Yea the new 4 banger is cool. But I had an LS1 4th gen too. Not so equal IMO. Let's see the real 2.0T stock times.

Definitely not equal, but amazing what this little 2.0T can do.

I have a 2009 HHR SS 2.0T 4 speed automatic now, that replaced my Gen4 LS1.
It runs 12.3s at the track, stock K04 turbo, with slicks, an E47 Ethanol tune, & a few other mods.

So, the better rear wheel drive 2.0T in the new Camaro, will easily be in the 11s, with a few mods.

Wow fast HHR. We will just have to see what those mods are. Removing all the seats, bumper bars, and A/C is no fair! ;)

I had a 02 Z28 and I ran 13.6 in it all the time. I'm pretty sure it will trounce the 2.0T. Don't get me wrong the T4 will be a quick car probably low 14's.

Al O has already stated at C5Fest that the "folks in Dearborn" are going to be upset when they see the performance of the base 2.0 compared to the Mustang Ecoboost.

One can only conclude it will have performance very similar, if not a hair better than the EB.

No doubt that 6th Gen Camaro Turbo4 and V6 performance will be much improved but I don't think it's eclipsing LS1 F-body just yet.

I agree, but I think the V6 with 8 speed will be much closer than ever before. I think a basic modded and tuned V6 is going to run deep 13s and possibly give a stock 5th gen L99 a decent run, with the edge going to the V8, but if you do the math, if the 6th gen V6 weighs around 3,500 lbs, and if you can mod it out to 350+ HP, it will have virtually the same HP to weight ratio is a 5th gen L99.

I think he means they will be upset that it's so close yet still slower. I say this because the t4 in the camaro is considered a base engine with less power while the t4 in the stang is an upgrade with more power. I'm sure the 8sp auto will help some

Turbo + a good Ethanol tune = a torque monster...

Mods = K&N air intake, TurboTech engine mount, 'cored' out the 2nd cat, 3" cat-back exhaust, lighter wheels/rotors, E47 Ethanol tune.

Boost-launching , at the tree, 6-10 lbs @ 2,400rpm, with slicks, = 1.7 60' times.

Super smooth DD, even in Pittsburgh snowy winters...:)

The 2.0T is easy to tune, & has been for years now.

Stock 2016 2.0T = 13.9s
Add a tune , with traction = 13.4s
Add an Ethanol tune, with an air intake, & traction = 12.9s

The CTS is AWD so it might be a little faster through the 1/4 mile.

I've had 2 x 1995 Z28's (LT1).

Those cars were fast and fun. Given the power figures I'm imagining the V6 is going to beat my old z28's. Quite a bit less torque so they may not pull quite as hard off the line but, significantly more HP should win out in the end.

Really looking forward to reading the performance reviews.

AWD adds weight, & takes a few horsepower, so it would be slower than
the same, rear wheel drive car with the same engine/transmission.
