What if the 2016 Camaro (6th gen) resembled this

A concept from someone who did an internship with GM helping to design interiors. After finishing with GM, they did this 6th gen Camaro concept......not from GM.

More from the designer, Brian Geiszler. He says this:

Quote:

This project was created in my 7th term Studio at Art Center. During my internship at General Motors, I designed a next generation Camaro interior, so I figured why not make it a complete car once I came back to school.

The intent of the project was to add an extra level of surface sophistication and change up the proportions a bit, that's where the fastback look came into play, which is a first for Camaro.

OK if this is the 6Gen I'm sold! This is exactly what should be produced a highly evolved design off the 5Gen. Just beautiful! :headbang:

I think you would be surprised at what a compromised package this car would have. You'd have the rear seat and trunk of a 911. And those doors are pretty much not manufacturable especially if you like to put your windows down.

It's a nice shape but not a real workable design for the real world.

...not from GM. I posted up more on this in of of the other threads in this section...can't remember which at this point.

While I realize this isn't a production vehicle, I still like it. And maybe not as a Camaro, but as something else. Would like to read more about the design & seeing more angles of it if they're available.

huggercamaro21 07-09-2014 05:58 PM

Front needs a little work. Other than that it looks great!

Todd in Vancouver 07-09-2014 06:00 PM

Hmmm, if that's the next Camaro I'm glad I've got my 2014. I'm not a fan as it seems to have lost it's Camaroness, if that's a word, and could just be a Chevrolet XYZ.

MBS 07-09-2014 06:01 PM

I need a little more ass than that ,Looks like someone chainsawed the rear too much , Like the front a lot. and doors but of course there is no way they could press those, Unless they got something up there sleeves

B_Rian 07-09-2014 06:16 PM

The rear looks like the Corvette Stingray concept

Blu Ray 07-09-2014 06:23 PM

I like it, but it resembles the new srt viper

nUcLeArEnVoY 07-09-2014 07:11 PM

Ditch the fastback for a traditional Camaro greenhouse and I'm sold. Fastbacks are an amazing classic styling cue, but if this is an evolution of the 5th gen (which it clearly is), then it should maintain the first gen styling cues that the 5th gen did.

Front end is near perfection, but it needs some refinement. The direction this designer went with the front end is awesome, since it emphasizes anger with the "mean" brow. Like I said, just needs slight refinement since right now it's too bold.

Meanwhile, the rear needs exactly the opposite. It looks a tad too "ground tourer" to me. Needs some more stout dimensions to Americanize it.

This is definitely one of the better renders for damn sure. Sadly, it is only just another round of speculation for something we know next to nothing about, styling-wise.

BowlingSS 07-09-2014 07:15 PM

I like it but I doubt GM will make it.

Bill

Char1ieone 07-09-2014 07:48 PM

If, and that's IF it looked like that, it's kinda a different and slick design. I like it, but could a little more subtlety though.

I understand it needs to be real-world workable, however it's going in the right direction. BTW I'm not sold on the fastback design. I do see the promise of a 6Gen Camaro here.

2010SLVRBULIT 07-09-2014 08:00 PM

looks like sh*t..

menendez1293 07-09-2014 08:04 PM

No thank you, reminds me of a mustang.

BAD DAB 07-09-2014 08:07 PM

Nope!

libertyforall 07-09-2014 08:08 PM

Front and rear are UGLY! Front looks like a gigantic smile, and the rear looks like a devoid Stingray missing pieces. *blah* Side is not bad but those two raised lines on the sides are two deep. The wheels look toyishly huge and overstated.

ilirg 07-09-2014 08:22 PM

I liked the side profile, then saw the sketches of the front and rear and almost puked.

ThaCamaroKid 07-09-2014 08:29 PM

The front needs MAJOR work, but other than that it has potential.

Not like it matters though, if GM intends to come out with the 6th gen by 2016 they already have a design nailed down and probably have a few concepts built.

87GNX 07-09-2014 08:54 PM

If that's it sorta, im gonna have a 2016 Fustang. Fugly.

cliffdog89 07-09-2014 09:05 PM

I think it is worth discussion so...

Well that's what concepts are...huge and overstated. Then you tone them down for the real deal. The 5th gen Camaro concept however, was fairly close to the real deal, but was still toned down some.

I agree...looks very attractive from the side. Of course you couldn't put indentions that deep on a production car without it being ridiculously wide, but they could still have them, and make them deep enough to look "conceptish".

I found this link on FaceBook. haha

LimaCharlie 07-10-2014 12:10 AM

I'm not sure about the front and rear but the side profile is nice.

LBreezie 07-10-2014 12:21 AM

Best concept I've seen to date

Banshee 07-10-2014 12:38 AM

It sucks balls..

samurai 07-10-2014 01:52 AM

I like the design, but it looks like a small sportscar, not a musclecar!
