Refreshed 2019 Camaro lineup spotted at GM Proving Grounds

October 23, 2017 Update:

The 2019 Camaro lineup has now been spotted with refreshed head lights and tail lights! The 2019 Camaro refresh model prototypes were first spotted in May but have not been seen with more revealing camouflage until now.

While the heavy camouflage still obscures the styling changes to the front and rear ends, the revised headlights and tail lights are now visible.

You'll notice that the ZL1 model does not have front end camouflage, likely signaling that it will not receive any changes to its front end styling or headlights.

Original post:

This is the the entire lineup for the refreshed 2019 Chevrolet Camaro, caught testing near GMs Milford Proving Grounds.

Pictured are the ZL1, 1LT, SS coupe, and the SS convertible. All appear to be receiving a midcycle refresh that includes revised front and rear ends (except the ZL1 which only has its rear camouflaged), perhaps extensively so given the amount of camouflage applied to these prototypes.

Reminds me a little of the Iroc style...

For the love of Pete - don't mess with ZL1's front end GM. It's SO NASTY. I LOVE IT, LOL.

You can see right through those false fronts. Not sure what this is "revealing"

Side note. Kinda makes me want to wrap my entire car in that just to screw with websites.

In one of those pics you see the taillight lit up. Looks like circles of LED bulbs. The new rims look interesting too!

mcintyre1969 05-26-2017 11:26 AM

Cool, they are coming with CB radios!

Not a fan of the new rims, and but I am curious about the tail lights.

ChevyRules 05-26-2017 11:30 AM

Those taillights are probably placeholders and not the production taillights.

I've been waiting for that. Hopefully they will retrofit on the 2017s.

RenegadeXR 05-26-2017 11:39 AM

So they did the same thing for the ZL1 back with Gen 5 -- kept the front fascia the same as the pre-refresh design and only updated the rear. Why? Is it an airflow or performance constraint? Too much cost sunk into R&D to put at risk?

Also, stating the obvious, but this now shuts down those few naysayer holdouts claiming this wasn't a 2019 refresh. Seeing all the cars in camo for all trims proves this isn't just one car like a z/28.

How long until you start to notice them on backwards all over the roads like the C4 Corvette wheels.

I sure hope they are temp placement LED lights. Those look like something you could pick up for a couple of bucks at the local flea market.

Seems like a year early for a refresh not sure what else they can do to the car it looks great as it sits. When they did the refresh for 14/15 it went down hill in looks.
