The indented main grill area is starting to seem like a reoccuring theme. Check out the Nascar Camaro

:barf: I like the side profile but no thanks to the front.

fbodfather, said it best when he said www.notgonnahappen.com

The back looks like the 2010+ Mustang.
I doubt fbodfather would admit something like that.

I mentioned in the thread on the other site...I don't think even 'evolved' 5th gen styling works as a fastback. That's really about the only thing I didn't like about those chops. Yeah, the front end view was a bit rough, but I think it would look good with a little refinement.

I didn't care for the coupe or the four door sedan - but the convertible and El Camino both looked promising to me

I pretty much agree with many of the other comments here:

1) Side profile looks good and a nice update of the current car, but the fast back doesn't quite work for me. It looks decent on the silver car, but looks a bit odd on some of the other shots. Going a bit more traditional here (not having the roofline swoop go all the way back) instead of fast back would be better.

2) Side windows look a little funny...specifically the swooping shape of the lower part of it.

3) None of those front ends work for me. One too plain, and the other looks like a bug face. soften up the bug face one a bit and go with a different head light design and we could be talking. Give the hood some character...performance cars should NOT have a boring hood! The center bulge the current car has would still work perfectly.

4) Don't see enough of the rear end to know forsure, but I'm thinking it needs a new tail-light design

Overall for someone's mock-up, not too bad, but still no way I'd purchase it if the front looked just like that.

side profiles looked great to me in those chops

If the 5th gen needed to have the B-pillar behind the rear quarter glass, those designs would need it as well...

As stated above, the rear end looks like the same "baby with a dirty diaper" rear end that the Mustang currently has.

The targa top is the only thing I liked. Please, please, please - if we can't get t-tops anymore, PLEASE give us a targa top on the 6th gen!

the rear looks good from the back but the side profile looks like the same slant as the mustang..no thanks

I'll be honest in saying that this is the first 6th gen study that has potential. I think it looks good. Its a derivation of the 5th gen style but adds a more oval profile and cleaner sculpting lines. The front grille needs some work, but IMO that will be an easier task than shaping the body. Its very interesting; I would be careful with the pillars. The pillars seem to dip a bit into the lexus think.

Overall it is a fantastic start, and with a little work with the front and rear facades, the design could be another success.

Edit: The 4 door sedan would be a welcomed alternative to the Chevy SS (the front end needs a lot of work). The designs need to be bold, clean, and less dependent on design and chassis sharing that has been the usual GM think.

It's said that there are dozens if not hundreds of design submissions for cars like the Camaro and Corvette....they pick a few they like and start massaging the clay....

I would love to see all of those proposals that didn't make it...

what ever happened to "love the one your with?"

GroundhogSS 03-05-2013 01:03 PM

Looks like a lot of Jaguar or Mercedes in the Camaros.
