A question that I don't think has been asked.
So most people have been speculating what the design of the 6th Gen could look like and wondering what it might include.
My question is what is it that you DON'T want to see in the 6th gen? |
Police lights :smiling1:
|
I don't want to see a return to the bubble back rear window/no rear-quarter window design. We had enough years of that.
|
A lot of weight.
|
Crappy interior.
|
A lot of weight, not having the same look of interior as all the other fleet of cars in Chevy, heavy cast wheels (worth a shot)
|
The 2014 taillights and put the word "Camaro" back on the steering wheel! Heck, the Impala has it's own logo.

here's hoping it's all new w/o any carry-over from the '10 and up.
|
Please remove the over sized front and rear bowties and bring back a modern version of the 70's and 80's Camaro flag emblem. Keep it small or leave it off; but please ditch the giant bowties. The Vette doesn't have them and neither should the Camaro imo.

Don't want to see:
1) L99 engine - I'd have bought an SS auto by now - but not with the inferior L99 2) Poor visibility 3) Bigger wheels/tires - I want to ride on comfortable rubber, not the rims 4) Summer tires - I'm not going "racin" 5) Heated seats - In Florida I need cooled seats 6) Retro dash/interior - Check out the 2014 Impala SS - copy dash and interior 7) GM hallmark: questionable reliability of new designs/models |
I don't want to see a 6th gen Z28... but rather stick with the track dedicated Z/28. And I agree with removing the bow tie but I'm not a fan of the Red White and Blue emblem used on the 2nd and 3rd gens (not sure if used on the fourth gen?) The heritage grill looks just fine without a bow tie so I'd suggest designing a good looking grille that doesn't incorporate one.
|
It was used on the 4th gen and I liked it a lot. Maybe a modern version would be great. Just remove weight!!

Here is one from 95. |
Thanks for the info. A Red White and Blue emblem was also used on Mustangs (not sure what generations) and it was very similar to the one used on the Camaro. So what pony car used them first?
In terms of emblems I like the SS in the center of the grille... maybe just leave the V6 with the bow tie. And I really wish engine displacement was advertised on the car (V8's only) in cubic inches |

Here's the Mustang emblem... eerily similar
|
Use the flowtie than bowtie
|
too much electronics. the less the better. scrap all the gizmos; hud, back up cameras, electric steering that fail electronic suspensions, stupid key stuck in ignition, no electric door latch... i think that's enough.
the more simple less trouble and less trip at the dealer. we want to drive. not sit and wait while it's getting fixed. |
-A corporate sellout like the 2015 Mustang(corporate grille, 4 banger trim, etc)
-A body just as bulky(and heavy) as the current model -The refresh tailights -The refresh chrome strip above the grill Just don't f-k it up like Ford did with the Mustang. Stay true the car's roots and don't try to make it look like something it's not. |
I dont want to see:
- Cheap interior quality/look (like mentioned here, something like 2014 SS Impala interior would be awesome) - Too much futuristic design elements, keep it close to the origins (big and aggressive lookin) - Heavy weigth - Visibility (at least add a few parking sensors for contries with smaller parking space than the us) - Dumbo mirrors on the eu models, just find a better looking solution |
Don't want to see:
Gas guzzler tax Same or more weight than current 5th gen mustang tail lights : ) Lt1 + handling capability of 1le + diet = awesome 6th gen |
I don't want to see a Z/28. I want to see a Z28.

Did I pay a premium for the Z28? Of course not because GM didn't put anywhere near the effort into it. It's not even in the same universe as the 2014 Z/28. They didn't even put in the best N/A engine they had. Corvette was all they cared about and because of that, the Camaro died. $75k is wrong to you but not to me. Everyone wants the Camaro to compete with the best cars in the world. Well you gotta pay to play. |

Just an FYI but the Camaro emblem has already made an appearance on the 5th gen.
I think it can be made nice for a 6th gen as well. As far as removing the Bowtie... NEVER gonna happen. The Corvette is a Chevy but it's much more than that. It's a car that someone would shop but never would look at another GM car. The Camaro is really the working mans halo car. You might get smaller or differently designed Bowties but if you think they would ever remove them 100% your crazy. That said whats with all the hate! lol |

You see a lot of Z28s because they were the SSs of the 4th gen. They were nothing special. Yes I own one and accept what they are. Seems like you have them made out to be something they aren't. The Camaro isn't going to live or die off the Z/28, just like the ZL1. It has the V6 SS to support it. I bet they sell every Z/28 they build. You're waiting for something that will never come because even you don't know what you want in the car. |
