(No V8's!) What would you choose if the 5th Gen Camaro didn't exist?
Like the thread says, what would you have gone with if the 5th gen didn't exist?
It's easy to say Mustang, Challenger, Vette, etc. Let's make this interesting.... and stick with sporty cars of the somewhat modern era. I 350/370z? WRX/STI? M3? Lexus? Tricked out Paul Walker Mitsubishi Eclipse from Fast and the Furious 1? What would you guys have chosen and why? I might've personally went with a 370z, I've always had a soft spot for the Z's. Not a TON of bang for your buck in the car, but interior is gorgeous, car is lightweight and doesn't sound like a ricer either. |
None of the above haha. I dont like rice. I would stick with a truck.

Either a C7 or the Sierra Denali Crew Cab.

If the 5th Gen never happened, I would still be in the market for a '69 Camaro and wouldn't be searching for any other car. But, if I had to pick one from the last couple of decades, I think I would try to find a twin turbo Supra (1993+).

So you wanted the answer to be a vehicle that DID NOT have a v-8, right?
WTF did these other guys answer with V-8 cars? Reading is fundamental. My answer is that I didn't need the Camaro to begin with so I would not have purchased anything. |
1. M4: I like the tech and luxury of these, not to mention the base model TT6 makes 425hp, the competition package bumps to 444hp, and the GTS tops at 493hp!
2. G37x: I just think they are sexy. |
Considering I've had both a WRX/STI and an STS V in recent years and loved them both, probably one of those.
Although I've been very tempted by the Golf R. It's very stout with nothing but an ECU tune, incredibly smooth, quiet ride, Audi-like interior, affordable, has AWD, etc. etc. etc. Love that car. My wife had a GTI 6M fully loaded for just under $30k new and I loved that one too. Very refined overall, and once we got it tuned, it was a lot of fun. Having an AWD version of that with 100 more HP would be a great car to have. I know the hatch doesn't work for some, but as a family man with kids that play sports and two dogs, my STI hatch was a great family car. |
GM needs to produce a Cruze SS in the neighborhood of 250-300hp, 6 speed manual. With options like: Brembo brakes, Recaro seats, AWD?, carbon fiber package, etc., all for a starting price of ~$25k.
This is what I would buy if it were a reality. :chevy: |
