Where will the front license plate go?

Since the vent is fully functional, where will the license plate go? The 2010-2015 has a larger part between the top and bottom grill where the license plate goes, and it fits. But the 2016 has a MUCH narrower section. Other cars with a similar vent, usually have the license plate right over the vent, but usually it's in an area that is blocked off where the vent is only aesthetic. Is there any type of by-law that can exempt a car from a front license plate if a front license plate will negatively affect the engine cooling?

if I buy, I shall do a hide away plate

I have a 2014 SS. I live in Ontario, where we need to have a front plate. I took mine off last summer, and have only been pulled over twice. I never got a ticket. Told the last officer that the car was designed with that area being a major air intake fr cooling the engine, and that I thought it looked better. He told me that I "should" have a front plate, but he agrees it looks better without.

I hope Pa never changes that law. Front plates will look bad on this new car.

No doubt! It's been over 4 years since I've had a car with a front plate and we require them in MN. Then some parking meter maid gives me a ticket in downtown minneapolis when I'm at a Twins game for no plate. Never been pulled over for it though.

good question.... from what I understand, dealerships within the states that require a front plate are supposed to install the mounting hardware for the plate... like Texas.... but we do not put the brackets on Vets, Camaros, Mustangs or Challengers.

it goes in the back.

I'm sure I will be crawling around the first 6th gen that shows up near me at the dealer taking measurements to try and make a front plate bracket similar to the ones I offer for the 5th gen.

From looking at the pictures, I can only assume that the factory bracket will cover a lot of the front grill area. I would imagine the factory plastic bracket will screw into the strip at the top of the grill like a 2014-15... I swear I've seen a picture of a 6th gen prototype with a front license plate on it somewhere, I'll have to see if I can find it again.

I'm in Toronto and have been trying to figure out how to handle the front plate. The plate really messed up the look of these cars. I'll likely get a motorized hide away, press the button whenever I see cops in the area, lol. :smiling1:
