Speaker tap 2023 1SS vert.

Hi!

I have a Kicker HS8 powered sub i ran in another car that was totally satisfactory for my needs. I need to tap into the rear speakers on my 1SS convertible. I know that i can pull the sail panels in the rear for speaker access but need to tap there and run to the trunk for the amp.

The amp needs speaker input from both sides, a hot, and ground. Obviously hot and ground are in the trunk. I was looking but of course the top doesnt want to stay in the half open position. Anyone have any insight as to where to tap in or where the best place to run wires is?

Or , can i disconnect the battery while the top is half open so it stays there?

thanks!

This MIGHT help with your question about keeping the top open:

You don't want to tap into the rear speaker signals for your sub: they aren't full frequency range. You want to tap into the front speaker signal.

Bose or non-Bose?

THIS, and tap both front left and front right.

If it's non-Bose, you can access the speaker wires at the passenger side dash or at the dash speaker location. If it's Bose (meaning you have the technology package), then you'll want to intercept at the factory sub output.

Assuming it's non-Bose, I have all of the 1SS audio schematics. Attached are with and without active noise cancelling, non-Bose.

Don't forget to cut your active noise canceling wire!

Attached are a collection of ANC schematics, pin-out diagrams, and the system description.

Disconnecting the microphones is the easiest solution that doesn't require cutting wiring, and there are two mics. How the system integrates depends on the trim level/audio system you have.

Everything they said is correct, and it's pretty damn annoying that one of eight speaker wire outputs is on the other connector to the radio module. However, that is one of the rear wires. I had Gen5DIY build me a breakout harness for just the other connector that has all the front speaker signals on it. That is better IMO than cutting or tapping the factory wires, and it's actually easy to install because you don't have to drop the module to plug these in (at least on 2019+ models). And of course it's fully reversible.

I also intercepted my wiring with a breakout harness:

does anyone have any insight about how to get into the trunk though....the convertible top in the way is still a thing.
