LS3? L99?

I have a 2010 SS with auto trans. How can I tell which motor I have in my car? The LS3 or L99? I was going to call the dealer with my vin and ask but was wondering if there was any other way.
Thanks

Auto trans = L99 400 hp
Manual trans = LS3 425 HP

Have fun

I think the LS3 is 426... But 1 HP is like tomato / tomatoe... :)

You have the L99. L99 is the LS3 with AFM I believe.

The L99 has a different cam, lower compression, different valves and relief cuts in the pistons vs LS3

I believe all auto trans are L99 and all manuals are LS3s.

Yes, the AFM blows until you take a road trip!!!.. But I used the paddle shifter.. They seem to off set the AFM..

Also,
the LS3, Manual has a "W" code in the VIN

The L99, Auto, has a "J" code in the VIN

One HP counts...we spend stupid money in Mods for every HP we can gain! LOL

True, but that's at the crank, at the wheels its really more like 0.8 HP

Not exactly. There are considerable differences. (L99 is quicker - )
