How many of you on here are planning on sourcing ZL1/1LE aero parts on you're cars
I'm just getting an idea on something I believe people will be interested in.
TIA
PS I have several 5th gen ZL1 parts on a 2013 SS/1LE.
Along with a ZL1/1LE

I'm on the fence but I think there's a good chance I'll eventually add them.

I'm really interested to see how a ZL1 would look with the ZL1 1LE splitter and wing, but no canards/dive planes!

ZED SLED 09-06-2017 10:09 AM

No, I'm good. Thanks.

I'm all ready doing it.. I want a daily driver and a track car for the events near me I all ready track a few times a year and upgraded my SS with better wheels, blower, and brakes. If the aero package helps me compete more so then I'm down with zl1 1le parts on my Zl1.

On the cosmetic side... I have the carbon insert. gun metal wheels and mosaic blk side skirts.. that is stupid.. I'm not a multicolored christmas light hanger never had liked them I like 1 to 2 colors..

so It makes sense to add the wing since it will match the hood size didn't really matter but material did. I will either get the 1le parts mosaic blk or flat blk but not going to add another color. I all ready powder coating my wheel as we speak blk.

I think its practical if you dont want a rough riding daily it's ok to add the parts..

I talked to thatgmpartsguy and a camaro owner is doing it that I'm not sure if its ok to do. Hes buying the fenders and front end as well.

It wasn't that I could not pay the extra money or that I couldn't find one for sale believe me there are plenty, it was that I wanted a yellow car, In fact my money is still down on a Zl1 1le at lonestar chevy in yellow plenty of time to change color. I just didn't want to wait for a build date of dec jan... if someone wants my spot for there own color and options let me know..

this dealer excepted my supplier price to so it was 68k vs my 64k supplier on my zl1.. It going to come out the same since the parts are 3700 bucks roughly... (not counting the wheels and adj shocks) so really I should just get the 1le but I didn't want to wait I'm tired of sharing care with wifey! lol

After looking at it not sure i want the to add the diveplanes or canards to and loose the fogs or DRLs...

I saw a pick of the GT4 r and it still has the light in the bezels...

I will install that first so you can see... the wing and spoiler.. Not sure I want to cut my fascia to..

Battlezone580 09-06-2017 10:51 AM

Can you add the dive planes to the ZL1 without removing the DRL's? If so I would suggest against it.

I personally love the dive planes, the car looks absolutely insane. I've had my ZL1 1LE for less than a week, and lets just say it gets a lot of attention. I say go all the way!

Initially, I'd be interested in high quality carbon fiber replacements for the dive planes as well as the "box" behind them as they are the cheapest looking pieces on the car being textured plastic.

In the future, I'd possibly be interested in high quality carbon fiber replacements for the front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser and side view mirrors for a carbon fiber theme but, I'm perfectly happy with the look and quality of those pieces as is.

All those pieces you named are currently being sourced and ready for the molding process

Zl1 #586 09-06-2017 12:35 PM

All these pieces were done by the same company working on the Camaro
