Another one: how much rw power do you think I’ll make?
 

So I have a ‘16 1SS 6M. The only thing currently done to it is custom 3” X-pipe cat-back exhaust. I just dropped it off yesterday morning at HPA (HorsePowerAddicts). They are putting 1 7/8” Kooks headers, cat-less connection pipes, E85 flex fuel kit, porting the stock intake & throttle body, and Roto-fab dry filter CAI. Expected E content during the tune will likely be around 60-65%. I’m also having them install BMR U&L non adjustable trailing arms and upper control arms as well as the cradle lock out, but that won’t add to the hp...

I am having them do a baseline so I will have the before and after numbers.

So what do you think the final numbers may be? What gains do you think the car will see?

I’m going to stay to the low side of realistic and say around 45-50rwhp gain, at around 455-460rwhp.

Yours should be similar - assuming similar dyno calibration

And as I said on the last thread like this - because of differing dyno calibrations ET and trap speed matter more than a dyno number

I believe that I may likely see higher numbers, just don’t want to get my hopes up. A couple weeks ago another gen6 M6 with TSP headers, catted connections, cat-back and CAI made 451/459. That’s without E85 and ported intake and throttle body. However, this car did have lighter aftermarket wheels, which from I’ve seen does make a difference on the dyno.

I had the exact same mods. Stock I made 422/420. Afterwards made 472/470. That was on e50 and a safe tune of 12.6 afr. I am told I was leaving some hp on the table at that afr. But I road race and autocross and made sure the tuner was aware that I wanted a safe tune that I could pound on for hours. I have seen mixed results on ported IM TB. 16s usually see less improvement as their stock intakes are less restrictive. Next week we are installing H/C from PRAY. Excited to see the results.

Also be aware of dyno tricks. Anyone can make a high dyno number. Was it SAE? Smoothing5? was the car to operating temp? whenever I see someone post a dyno sheet those are the first things to look for. One can post in standard and mess with the smoothing and show a lot higher number.

Weather on the east coast has put a damper on the timeline for me to pick the car up. They did baseline dyno the car yesterday morning, I was told it made 396rwhp 1st run, 398rwhp 2nd run. A touch low for what I’ve seen from most manual cars, however, there’s a ton of variables and it was raining and I don’t believe their dyno room is climate controlled, and they do their dyno runs with the garage door open. Still, the gains are all the truly matters. I’m hoping to be able to pick the car up Saturday.

So the car is done, I pick it up tomorrow, but they emailed me the dyno graph.
Max the car picked up 53.5hp / 56.0tq on 93 octane
Max the car picked up 67.9hp / 70.0tq on E85 (around 60%)
Doing the best I could to average out the gains starting at 3250RPM, then 4000,4500,5000,5500, & 6000RPM. It appears that the car picked up an average throughout this rpm range of 54.1hp/52.7tq on 93 and 68.1hp/68.3tq on E85.

What really looks impressive is that at 4000RPM you see the biggest difference over stock; 78.0hp/66.8tq on 93 and 91.9hp/83.4tq on E85.
