OKAY, busted, violation...5th gen forum HI-JACK

Yeah, I'm guilty of creating a post to showcase my 1968 RS, owned in my junior year of high school, but here goes...

In my fantasy world I would like to see a few new 1st gen clues in the "next" Camaro.

I know that the current 5th generation Camaro indeed has some 1st gen "clues" as it is, however...

I feel that the 2014 model is reverting back to the "74"-"81" as well as the 3rd gen Camaro, (which is not necessary a bad thing) with the tail light theme.

So here is an inspiration of what could be if the powers that be deem acceptable.

Keep in mind (tires, altitude, stickers etc.) this is 1975 high school shit.

Have fun with this thread...

Lol yep, shackles are High School shit...

Leaf-spring 'lifters', slotted "mag" wheels, and Kelly-Springfield Super Chargers tires. I had all those mods on my first car (1971 Mustang Mach 1).

THANKS for the trip down Memory Lane!

WELL..... the truth is that the Camaro came with shackles. What we did was take a big bar and pop them over to give the car some lift. You could buy longer ones but this Camaro looks like they are stock.

I like it-
What was the feeling like having that 7 year old car in HS?

SGDM 03-27-2014 03:52 AM

Cragar slots, I had a set of those. Beautiful car man!

Thanks for all the replys guys.

I was very fortunate to have several cool rides in my high school years (1974-1977) I worked every summer full time and part time after school, just sayin'... you know?

The pic. of the 68 RS was taken the very day I sold it...

...Only to purchase this 1970 RS. This pic. too was taken the very day I sold the 70 Camaro, a rainy day in March 1979 (polaroid camera and all)
The color is not black, but Mid Night Blue.

BTW both Camaro's (including my very first car, a 1965 Mustang) were all equipped with Gabriel Hi Jacker air shocks, for that sweet raised ass end look.

Please excuse the poor quality of pictures, but that was the way we did it then.

First thing is you were "THE MAN" in high school. Love vintage photos like that.

Second thing is no way did those trees in the background grow that much that fast.

I'm completely happy to see classics on here. :coolpics:

"Trees in the back ground" LOL
You're a very astute observer. Which is a good thing.
The "68" pic was taken @ the new owners home/neighborhood, and the "70" pic. was taken @ my parents home/neighborhood.
