Wow, that sucks.

It's hard to feel sorry for someone killed in a car crash while driving drunk, not wearing a seat belt and fleeing the police. I'm just glad they didn't hurt anyone else in the process.

Holy crap!!!

While it is sad for you, yes, it is fortunate that if a person dies that it is the drunk driver rather than some innocent family or bystander. Play with fire, expect to be burned... Find a DD you can trust or don't drink at all.

Skrail 01-01-2014 09:00 PM

I agree. I also spent 4 days in ICU, 1000 miles away from home, watching him die. not one of us on here has done anything stupid that could result the same way?. be it speed, cuz we have fast Camaro? or texting?. the thing that gets me, he went thru the PASSENGER window, and the other drunk occupantwas unhurt...weird hh?...Florida found him as driver, since he was the truck owner...doesn t bring him back..and I am a strong proponent for cabs, and designated driver!!!

It's unfortunate. Yes, many of us have done stupid things that could have resulted in a very bad event. But combining these stupid things with alcohol or drugs makes it 10x worse.

Exactly what I was thinking. It's fortunate that nobody else was injured/killed.
I do feel bad for their families though. This was a stupid and selfish way to die.

My condolences on your loss and you are 100% right because nobody knows what another person is going through. We have all done something that in retrospect we would possibly never do again but until you walk in someone's else's shoes it is not for anyone to judge.

This is a sad picture both for the person driving and their family. It's easy to point a finger just remember the other fingers are pointing right back at you. And, before anyone roasts me for my comment just realize there are a lot of folks out there who feel any of us going above the posted speed limit and crash and they could be saying the same thing about any of us in our cars and it's our own fault for owning a car with more than 100hp.

ALSO, it says "believed" and is not yet a fact. I'm not saying it's not true but since when does anyone believe everything the news reports?

heymatt 01-01-2014 09:32 PM

Sometimes you walk away from bad decisions, sometimes you don't.
The thing is you never know which it will be.
I guess the thing is try not to make bad decisions, Lord knows I've made my share. Most of us on here could say the same.
Skrail, sorry to hear about your brother. Most of us have lost some one close to us in a tragic accident.
