i think this forum should stay as is.
I dont think the 6th gen will do as well as this one has. Gen 5, is the last of the beautiful, muscle car called Camaro. I think in time, these cars will out sell gen 6 at the Barret Jackson auctions many years from now...it is easily the most eye pleasing of all camaros since 1980 and on. |
Numero Uno, Long Live Gen 5!
Vossen CF-5 on Nitto NT-05, 315/30/20 Exhaust done by the King, Ed Hanson in San Diego, on Jan 14th...it was well worth the drive from Redlands! |
5th gen..easily the most beautiful camaro since 1980 on...

go camaro6! c5 will be a subdivision like all others older gen's.

Whatever happens I can't wait for it to begin all over again. The first rides, the first pictures of each color, what options it will have, the spec breakdowns, endless discussions, PQ injuring himself while working on one.

Camaro5 won't go downhill at all as long as the site admins don't turn it into Camaro6.com. The site will keep evolving for years to come as long as the site stays devoted to 5th gens & maybe has a section for the 6th gen like they do for the ZL1.
|
There will be a huge William Wallace style battle between the forums, only the strongest will be standing over the 1000's of fallen.
|
Hopefully all the trolls will wonder over the camaro6.com and the cool peeps will stay here.
|
dude, there's a troll under every bridge

First let me say that this is a great site. I'm trolling on here a lot, looking at what everyone is doing. Posting when I've got something to say.
Let's all however be realistic. The 5th gen Camaro wasn't, for most of us our first car and it won't be our last. Yes we are all currently ga-ga over the latest mods and info on what's going on, but when Chevy moves on to the 6th gen, the 5th becomes the equivalent of the PS2. The aftermarket will focus on the new car and the number of new products for the 5th will dwindle. I'm talking several years, not immediately. Lets take the C5 corvette as an example. How many new products have come out; power packages from Callaway, SLP, and others?? Heck even the LS2 is yesterday's news. The web site I was a regular on C5registry.com now a virtual ghost town. (Today was the first time I went on the site in probably 6 years, and that, as well, was a great site with great people) That was just 8 years ago that the C6 came out. Lets enjoy the present and the time we share on the site. |
yeah, i wasn't callin nobody in particular a troll - just sayin that there's always somebody that's gonna try & stir up crap on any website. (in response to the guy above my last post)

Don't think it's going anywhere. Too many people use and own these cars now.

That said though, I haven't seen anything speculation on the ZL-1, COPO, or Z/28 -- I can see why the COPO and ZL-1 might not be back for the 6th gen Camaro but I would definitely hope the Z/28 comes back. At this point it's anyone's guess. |

I think of it as a chapter... once the 6th Gen comes out, the 5th gen's will already have had most of the questions, opinions, rumors, and highlights answered in a searchable way... it would make sense to make a Camaro6.com as a means to separate the new from the prior(s)..
Then again, Camaro5 can transition into a title of establishment time frame rather than a title of generations (i'm newer here than most, so not sure if Camaro5 was the first major Camaro forum, becoming heavily popularized by the 5th gen Camaro...) |
