If you’re anticipating the new Camaro, then you’re not alone. We’ve been running into sketches, Photoshopped renderings, and “what-ifs?” of the 2015/2016 Camaro all over the internet for the last couple of months. We’ve even heard a report that the 2014 Camaro is getting a facelift to keep things fresh. But more on that later.

Along with an updated body that's unmistakingly Camaro, the artist believes that the next car should get some fresh color options as well.



According to the original poster on GM Inside News, MonaroSS, he wanted to give the next generation Camaro a look that was familiar, and unmistakable, but one that was fresh, modern, and exciting. It’s been said that the next iteration of Chevrolet’s pony car will be smaller and lighter, and more nimble – just the way a pony car should be.


In a form of sacrilege, MonaroSS makes a mention to the Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ in terms of how the next Camaro should be. Perhaps not in so much as styling, just in size, uniqueness, and price. He also renders not only the coupe, but a convertible and an 800 HP tuner version too, just to give us an idea of what could be done to the body in regards to performance and personalization.


Truth be told, no one other than the GM designers and engineers have a real idea of what Camaro 6 will actually look like, but thanks to the modern luxury and convenience of computers, we can get together as a group and speculate.

I think it looks very sexy and futuristic. The only problem I have is the rear end, it looks too much like the mustang rear end

Sounds like a forum member very skilled at Photoshop....not an insider.

The profile looks a lot like the Bentley Continental GT - and we know the hardtop will never happen again in our lifetimes.

...The best looking design I've seen was one that was for the new Barracuda...lol...

one more nay vote for the rear end ... i'm thinking that GM would model the 6th Gen more along the lines of the 2nd Gen Camaro, that would be much more consistent, something like this maybe?

didn't know that sorry. baby and 2 jobs take most of my time I use lsxtv on time between jobs. overall i like the side view. the rearend looks like the grim reaper got a hold of the designers mid project.

Rear quarters are a serious 71 to 74 Javelin ripoff. Love them, not that though.

It looks like that ugly Honda crossover model...

I'm convinced that no matter what GM does the 6th gen will fail because the 5th gen is so beloved, or it will replace the current Camaro following with an entirely different group of people.

I sincerely doubt that is what it will look like and hope it doesn't. IMO that is ugly. That is all.

You may be correct, sort of...Probably won't be as big a hit as the Gen5, and may not see a lot of current owners trading in immediately or being as enthusiastic about it...but I would say anyone who is infatuated with the Gen5 probably already has one...
...so yeah, different folks are absolutely in their plans, for sure...It will be interesting to see how it plays out, to say the least...

This was already posted up on here somewhere, but heck if I can remember the exact thread.

If it wasn't for the fast back design, I think it looks decent from the side...pretty good actually. The butt is too sloped.

Where-ever that other thread is, it also had front end shots...which were not good at all.

Love the design but what does the front look like?

FWIW, those aren't straight on side profile shots, so the angle of the rear end is going to look a little off.

Well said, the rear looks too "humpy" it should still have that sleek fastback gt car look, not some weird bubbly looking hatch thing. Although I do kind of like the "tuner one" with the giant wing it makes the hump not look as bad.

Back end makes it look like a cross between the current Camaro and a bizarre retro C3 Corvette.

File it with the many other speculative renderings floating around the internets.

I like the convertible and the colors, but that's it.

The little teardrop ducty things on the front fenders and extending into the doors bodywork is just wretched looking.

I like it.....but they they need to swiftly drive the back of the car into a wall to make the rear look better.

Ahh not really feeling it, the side is not bad, the rear is horrible.

All this speculation has me crazy! :bonk: I'm just glad I'm not part of the GM design team tasked to improve on the gen5. How do you improve on perfection? Anyway, if they pull off with the gen6 Camaro what they did with the C7 Corvette then they will have a winner! When you look at the C7 you immediatley recognize Corvette but know that it's a modernized version! Same should be done with the Camaro!
