6th generation

I think the 6th gen camaro orders will start spring 2016 as a 2017 model for the 50th anniversary, not before then. Makes sense-also probobly an Indy pace-car again. Anyone think the same?

Yep...at the earliest. The 2014-15 6th gen thoughts many have I believe are way optimistic.

The 5th Gen was released in 2009 as a 2010. Very few cars run on a 7 year model cycle. Ford will release a new 2015 Mustang in 2014.

The 2nd gen was 11 years, and selling more cars per year than the 5th gens.

2nd gen- 12 years. 3rd gen- 11 years. 4th gen- 10 years...the 5th gen is still very popular and selling well. No reason to think it couldn't go 7+ years before a total redesign.

Product cycles were much longer during the 2nd Gen run.

I forgot that the 3rd and 4th gens ran that long!

4 model years now with virtually no exterior modifications and few mods to the interior. Steering wheel being the biggest I think. I think we will see a few model years with exterior changes to see how sales and interest is affected before any wholesale changes are made. Government mandates can affect when major changes happen as well.

and the 3rd, and 4th gen? Heck, it took GM 7 years just to bring the 5th gen from concept to production. Believe what you want, but I seriously doubt there will be any total redesign in the next 2 years.

How much :D

joeybsyc 12-04-2012 09:59 PM

As much as you're willing to lose.

CWI 12-04-2012 10:00 PM

I think Pete meant "how much change" if not total!:iono:

joeybsyc 12-04-2012 10:02 PM

Oh, I think you could see some front/rear bumper cover updates, different wheels, new seats, or dash...stuff like that over the next couple of years.. but that's a far cry from a 6th gen.
