Chevy Performance Cold Air Package Install

2 Attachment(s)
Installed the Chevy Performance cold air kit yesterday. The instructions were excellent and the kit included reprogramming in the price. It actually took more time for the reflash at the dealer than the installation. The dealer tried to charge for the reflash until I pointed out the language in the instructions that clearly show the reflash is included in the kit price. I like the intake sound and my seat of the pants feels like some increase in power.

I'm on the fence on getting the intake. Is it a big difference in sound?
Notice any difference before and after the tune?

It feels stronger by seat of the pants. Sound is much better. I’m happy with the result and the fact that it doesn’t mess up warranty coverage

The thing that gets me is it looks exactly like the Cold Air Inductions box, IDENTICAL with the exception of the GM Performance vs the Cold Air Inductions tag.
I was planning to get the GM box but they announced it, delayed it and then provided no further info on it, then pushed it out all after answering my questions on it initially leaving me hopeful on it.
I’ve since gone with the CAI box just weeks before GM released their box with little fanfare. Either way factory warranty is not voided by the box on either. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5a003a95e9.jpg

That's because the GM kit is made by CAI. lol

No $hit but i couldn’t get them to admit that when i made numerous inquiries about the product. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...be04556b43.jpg

Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder both can see it’s the exact same.

GREAT to hear such positive Feedback on this CAI. I ordered it, and waited a full year. A week after I Winter stored my car, the GM CAI arrived! It will now be placed under the "Tree" until Spring....... :smow:

Funny, as the Parts guy also questioned if the flash was included in the price...... Will have to check out the Invoice in full - Thanks for the heads up...:happy0180:

Is the GM CIA CARB legal? Gotta love California emissions laws :happy0180:

If you get the correct part number it is, ends in 125 I think. Check GM Parts Guys listing for it, it is the proper part number and even specifically referenced the CARB executive order.

I got a 50 state emissions sticker with mine.

I finally got my GM CAI installed last week at my local dealership. There is now only one part number and it is for the 50 state legal system, yes it comes with a CARB sticker which in even good in the COMMUNIST state of California. I did a road test of my Camaro 2SS from Imperial County up to my Murrieta and back this Veterans Day Weekend. The Car ran GREAT.

I tried to order the GM CAI system last week from my dealership. The parts guy struggled to find it and when he did, his system told him it wasn’t yet available. I told him others were buying and installing it, but his system wouldn’t let him even order it! I also told him what the service guy at the same dealership said about it most likely voiding my warrentee and he called BS. Said what most others say, that GM isn’t going to produce and sell a cold air intake that would void the warrentee.
