I wouldn't mind seeing a 2nd Gen Inspired 2016
... or Chevrolet paying homage to any of the previous versions.. I know many want something totally different and forward.. But what I don't want is a Camaro that doesn't look like a Camaro.. With a car as iconic as the Camaro I feel like you have to tip toe and make subtle progressions with the styling.. So going back is not a bad idea.. Remember GM tried forward thinking with the GTO. I personally liked it but many said it looked more like a Grand-Am on steroids than a GTO.. A GTO inspired from the early 70's would have won the hearts of many...so these renderings or sketches below I would be very happy with!!!

I rather see a new Camaro like the one in the new T4 movie. Hope the next gen will be offered in right hand drive too.

I have to say no, when they went from the '69 model to the '70 model they killed the car.

It still needs to look like a Camaro, but I hope we see a progression of the current design. Like the C7 for instance.
Don't do a Ford and soften it up to much. Also...give it its own personality...don't make it look like your family sedan. |

Ok just to be clear the GTO was a "quickly" derived coupe version of the Opel Omega which was also the ill fated Cadillac Catera. It was never styled, it was a contrived result. Lutz fell in love with it and it was brought here as a stop gap. There were greater plans for Pontiac that were never realized.
That is all. |

I wouldnt mind seeing the Camaro badge come back either!!

IMO, the third generation was totally redesigned from the ground up. There weren't a bunch of styling cues from the previous generations, but yet it "looked" like a Camaro (same thing going from 1st to 2nd gens). That's what I'd like to see for the sixth generation, a brand new design that still identifies it as our Camaro.

Ya gotta go with success. They need to build on the looks of the current design by moving it forward. They shouldn't go in a completely new direction. It has an identity now it needs to keep it.

I actually like this one: http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a74...psb2woumab.jpg |
I like this a lot, particularly the tail of the SS70.
I still think it is much more likely we are getting the movie car looking "evolutionary" version. It is more mainstream, so more 4cyl and v6 models might be sold vs V8s purchased as a halo vehicle. My guess is GM is thinking the merits of the Alpha platform and new powertrains will outweigh the need for cutting edge styling. The new Mustang is about as safe a styling play as you can get, so no pressure from there. |

I don't want to see anything retro this time around, I want to see something that's a game changer in the 6th gen..
|
First two pictures look nice. Don't really like the sketches. Also, I believe the GTO was a Holden Monero, not an Opel.

The 70s were lame in every way possible for cars. Crappy looks and performance. Drugs are bad. :)
