And the steering wheel is way better in the 12, wouldn't buy another car if it had the 2010 wheel.

agreed, not a fan of the older wheel.

A Camaro that looks even better the the gen5. That will be something to see. And no stinking AFM.

And one other thing. An 8 speed auto for those whom want an auto.

Hey all, first post here. I used to own a 4th gen Camaro Z28 and have been driving various cars since then. I like all cars and drive an M3 now, but may come back to Camaro one day. I come in peace! :)

There are really three major area I hope they improve with the next gen: weight, size, and interior design. I'm impressed with the progress they've made on the dynamics of the car with the 1LE, and this is very promising. I also hope they bring back the Z28 name for the next gen.

10BlkSS 12-30-2012 12:09 PM

Just make it faster, like 0-60 of 3.5 seconds for the SS.

Yea that too. All V8 models get 2mpg (the environment can suck it.), and the V6 models get 50mpg (the environment can suck it again.), and the turbo 4cyl can run on anything from premium to motor oil, getting 200mpg. (the environment can suck it two times!)

More lighting inside, Faster , Cheaper cost, just as cool ,if not cooler!

Vinz68 12-30-2012 02:43 PM

Lighter, smaller and more power...

v8 12-30-2012 02:53 PM

lose 300-400lbs:
manufacture the front suspension(control arms) out of something lighter than the current steel (maybe aluminum)
carbon fiber/aluminum drive shaft

I know that wont lose all the weight but its a start
LT1 direct injection engine for the SS
thicker clear coat to reduce chips

RandyT 12-30-2012 03:10 PM

drop it about an inch
drop some weight
change the rims
give it some more ponies

cmb74656 12-30-2012 04:33 PM

Add: Cornering lamps, remote fuel door release, more rear seat leg room, rear seatback release inside the trunk, power adjustable pedals, ECU tuning options that don't void the factory warranty.

Lose: A 10% weight reduction would be nice, 'rollerskates' on the brake pads need to go so a dount spare will fit over the Brembos (the brakes squeal anyways), water-based chip-prone paint.

Sun visors that block the sun, front and side. When swung to the side, it should be able to be pulled out to shade the full width of the side window.

Tinted rear windows.

No AFM on the V8 manual trans version.

Improved intercooling on supercharged version, less heat soak.

Muscle car sounding exhaust.

Drivetrain improvements to reduce wheel hop and breakage. Improved diff, axles, driveshaft, firmer bushings everywhere, get rid of the rubber in the driveshaft, cast aluminum in the rear suspension arms instead of flimsy stamped steel, stronger diff housing with less flex... With all these marshmallow soft bushings everywhere and thin stamped steel suspension arms, the rear in these cars flops all over the place.

Current SS trans gear ratios, but with 3.91 rear gears optional. Not the 1LE trans gears and 3.91s.... which still winds up with a tall 1st gear. Improve shift quality, better synchros.

An awesome sound system. Not Boston Accoustics or Bose. Something like Buick's Harmon Karden from a few years ago. That system had some great sound. Nothing from BA or Bose has sounded good lately. If people are going to pay big bucks for a premium sound system option, it should blow you away with sound quality.

Styling wise... as close to a '69 Camaro as possible would be my choice. Take a '69 Camaro... dechrome it... slam it.... pro tour it. Done

Wheels - Nothing bigger than 20s. The black 10 spoke forged ZL1 wheels are perfect.

Lose 3/400 lbs.

Add 25ish hp to all engine options.

More comfortable seat belt shoulder harness.

It does seem the Camaro has the least option from its direct competitors. Ford does it and I believe Mustangs are a little less expensive than the Camaro, so why not?

The mustang has a nice stereo (Microsoft SYNC) and I really like the mustang apps (or whatever they are called).

The challenger has some really nice options for the sound system, I think its called the electronic package.

No, the lines are in the rear view camera in the mirror. I would get a pic, but my car isn't here, so not a whole lot of help.

My '12 had that, but the 13's have a much larger rear camera screen on the MyLink panel. It's great, but the guidlines are gone.

1. Glovebox light
2. Do something about the crappy magnetic seatbelt strap thing on the seatback
3. Relocate the USB port somewhere other than inside the center console
4. Standard "donut" spare
5. Change the oval trunk opening - make it big enough to fit golf club bag in without first having to take out the driver & 3wood

joeybsyc 12-30-2012 07:48 PM

Fact is, the factory exhaust could come fully polished with the sexiest stainless mufflers you ever saw and sound like an Indy car and most people would still throw it away for the latest aftermarket system that was supposedly more free flowing and sounded better.

Maybe they should just offer it with no exhaust system at all and make everyone's life a little easier...;)
