Gen6 speculation

So far we've all seen the teaser images that General Motors has released about the Camaro. Is GM holding their cards closer to their chest than we anticipated? They decided to show different pictures then originally anticipated for today, what does this mean? It may be that GM has a trick up the Camaros engine bay. So far we know that components to the engine have been changed to fit the Camaro. Some 70% of the car is unique to itself, so does this mean different displacement possibly 6.6 liters a 396? The LT1 has been confirmed for the new generation Camaro at 6.2 liters, but I feel as if variations of this engine will become available soon after launch. The Camaro while sharing the same platform has different dimensions being longer and wider than the ATS. Will this mean that it will be heavIer than the 3600lbs AWD ATS 3.6. I am guessing that what we will see an unfortunate and disheartening weight gain over what we see in the ATS. I would like to hear people's thoughts on why they decided not to show the engine today. I could be looking into this too much but if you play the audio sound for the new Camaro and you pull up videos on the current c7 engine sound and the old ls7 we find in the z28 something is different it doesn't sound like either car per say but unique:iono:
BESIDES the LT1 is so flexible in its application that there is no need for a four cylinder variant. ...with AFM/and cylinder deactivation standard...if not is GM's 2.0t @ 275hp-290tq enough to combat the fords 2.3 ecoboost?....the current 3.6 @320hp-280tq.. should still be standard and more than enough vs Ford's trashy 3.7.V6. ALL I KNOW IS MAY IS TOO FAR AWAY!!!!

All I know is that I am now out of breath.

They state in the article that it is a 6.2L LT1 engine.

I'm excited to hear about the tubular tri y headers. We know quite a bit about the engine already.

All I'm concerned with is the new interior and MPG (which makes me care about the tranny). This will be my daily driver, so decent mileage and interior comfort and design are my main priorities. I really only want a v8 for the low end power and the sound, if I'm being honest.

Would LOVE to see a 396!

I believe they switched the engine pic to be revealed at a later date because it will be the announcement of a new turbo 4 or possibly new v6 with some sort of AFM.

The 6 with AFM will probably show up around New York Auto Show. I think I saw that the new 6 would be available for some 2016 models.

The CT6 is going to have it from what I hear, so we should hear the details then.

I'd love to see a 327 or 350 as a mid-level V8. Both would be easily doable with the Gen V smallblock without having to change the stroke one bit.

A 327 V8 to replace the V6 would be cool, but I doubt it. A 396 would be cool too but highly unlikely.

I doubt we see any other displacements than 6.2 liters. I would be surprised to see any new LTx engines at all.
