Hurst Shifters: Do You Like the Nostalgic Look or Would You Like to See an Update?

Looking for some feedback from Camaro owners. What draws you to or away from our current shifter offerings? Is it the form, function or both? Are you only interested in shorter, more precise throws or is the classic look part of the appeal for you? Would you like to see an updated stick and knob design - something other than the current stick and white ball or Pistol-Grip? Is the option of reusing your factory shift knob important to you? Let us know.

Update please!!! Lol. I appreciate the heritage look, but I don't think it looks right in this car (or at least mine. Adrenaline red interior) A way to re-use the oem knob would be cool too! I like the feel of that knob

I agree with using the OEM shift knob.

I’d buy one in a heartbeat if I could reuse the OEM shift boot and shift knob. Some vehicles I think the classic look would look great in. However I don’t like the look of it for this car, IMHO.

I mean, if they made one that was a similar shape, size, and weight of the oem one, tastefully done so they could have their logo on it (tastefully) i'd be perfectly happy to buy that. And if the boot could come all the way up instead of having bare shift rod. But that's not too annoying to me.

I can understand not wanting to use the oem so they can have their logo on it, which is understandable. That kind of heritage I'm good with. I have no problem telling people I have a hurst and how much I love it. But I also love the look of the oe shift knob and how it looks modern and sporty. It matches the car.

Definitely allow use of the OEM shift knob.

Yep, definitely agree about reusing OEM shift knob

OEM all the way. The ball is a very, very distant second and the grip isn’t even considered.

If I were driving standard, I wouldn't even consider those two knobs. The look is no good, somewhere between sticking a bobble head on your dash, and equipping the headlights with eyelashes. I'd want to reuse the factory knob, or I'd want something that's classy looking (sporty, classy, whatever -- but not a gun handle or pool ball).

Personally I like the classic ball, but wouldn't want it in white. Being that the Camaro has dark interior, it's kind of out of place. Just offer it in black, that would be good for me.

I would love to install the Hurst Shifter, but removing the exhaust and lowing the trans is a lot of work
I bought a cheap pistol grip measured the shaft and used the original set screw location.
Love the pistol grip your arm sets in the perfect position.

I like the classic style ball. Never understood why they went away from screw on knobs...sometimes simple is better.
