If this is what the 2015 is going to look like, sign me up! This is exactly what I imagined. Smaller, lighter, sleeker...

EDIT: I've noticed a few people here seem to think this is for sure what it will look like. This is just a rendering and not from GM. Don't get too excited haha.

what are those rear tires? 445s??? lol love the sleek look though

JusticePete 06-21-2012 12:05 AM

The rendering takes bits from past Camaros and blends them into a 'new' car?

Heritage Grille
ZL1 front fascia scoops
1st Gen / 5th Gen gills
5th Gen Concept Mirrors
5th Gen roof line
Exaggerated 5th Gen side panels
5th Gen side glass

Retro is old news. Look for the 6th Gen Camaro to be distinctly 6th Gen.

TaylorRyanSS 06-21-2012 12:21 AM

Yep, its called heritage. I do not see a major redesign coming for 2015. I think this is perfect... still kinda what we have now, but even cooler. They did it with the Mustang. In 2020 they can do a complete redesign.

TJ91 06-21-2012 12:21 AM

Wowwwwww. I'd want one hands down. Def going to have be the second camaro for me though. Not giving this one up

That looks badass, I'm sure it will look similar to that. That rear end is ridiculous, looks amazing

Taintedveins 06-21-2012 12:34 AM

That is bad ass!

LG_23 06-21-2012 12:38 AM

Lighter and smaller, sounds good to me

pincoin 06-21-2012 05:29 AM

That looks pretty good!

newagemuscle 06-21-2012 06:37 AM

I really like that. If it looks anything like that with a better powertrain and lighter... I will definetly consider dumping mine when it comes out.

pierre777 06-21-2012 07:39 AM

jesus christ ,i'd sell my cars and home to get that :confused0068:

BowtieBelle 06-21-2012 08:33 AM

Yeah, if that's what the 50th Anniversary Z/28 looked like-- MINE. :D

FYI, Mustang sales have been floundering since the last warm over of the same car.

You can count on that. The Cadillac ATS will deliver at 3,400 pounds according to Mr. Reuss with four doors. The Camaro should be lighter.

It will be interesting to see what everyone thinks of the 6th Gen when it is released with an all new look.

MEDISIN 06-21-2012 10:16 AM

Will be exciting to see what GM does with the next Camaro and ATS coupe on the Alpha platform.

Nessal 06-21-2012 10:33 AM

Hell, with the lighter chasis, they could just drop the LS3 back into it. That thing will run mid 12's easy. Then with the already well established aftermarket support for the LS3, this car will be a MONSTER.

Dznts 06-21-2012 10:49 AM

I like it! Will make a great addition to the garage!

sspddmn 06-21-2012 10:51 AM

Just great! If what I'm reading and seeing so far is gonna become reality, now I'm gonna have to figure a way to keep my ZL1 and buy that in 2016. Such torture!!! Aarrrrgghhhhh!!! :bangdesk:

But damn that is so bada$$!

TaylorRyanSS 06-21-2012 10:57 AM

Remeber, this is just a rendering. It may look completely different. But I do hope it resembles this.

45thAnniversary2SS 06-21-2012 11:13 AM

DanSS24 06-21-2012 12:24 PM

Retirement looks better and better each time i'm on this site. Camaro is getting better looking every time I see one.

BowtieBelle 06-21-2012 04:35 PM

By the way, that's not Camaro Now... it's in Camaro Performers. I subscribe to it :D

Oops that's what I meant. I took these photos, I have the magazine.

camaro_RS 06-21-2012 06:04 PM

I like it....of course.

StangKiller-SS 06-21-2012 06:15 PM

The Mustang has been re-engineered on the same base 2005 retro design 3 times now w/ the new 2013 model. I'd expect the 6th gen Camaro to have the 5th gen body shell but with the body panels, and interior reworked and a new upcoming gen C7 LSx engine. Or maybe it will be a whole new car since the Mustang's time with the 05 design may be up at about the time the Camaro gets redesigned.

Vicious 06-21-2012 06:31 PM

amazing ;)

JusticePete 06-21-2012 07:50 PM

The 6th Gen styling language is in these two concepts.

Chevrolet is looking beyond the USA for 6th Gen sales. It will be a global Chevrolet which is good for all Camaro enthusiasts. It means there will be sufficient R & D funding to deliver cars with superior performance to the current 5th Gen.

Smaller
More engine options
Direct Injection
Turbos

No need to panic. The 6th Gen will absolutely have V8 engine options.

If this is the case, I'll seriously be considering trading up. Of course, we'll have to get Dana the Tahoe first...BUT....

TaylorRyanSS 06-22-2012 10:30 AM

How many times is the thread title gonna change lol

AZCamaroFan 06-22-2012 11:28 AM

looks nice, but i have to believe it'll be more different from the current car than that.

njmike 06-22-2012 12:11 PM

looks like my wheels on there

doc7000 06-22-2012 12:12 PM

I actually believe that its going to use many of the styling cues from the 140S, however will have similar proportions to the current Camaro.

Grandeos 06-22-2012 12:15 PM

Nope. Thanks, but try again. Not so literal....

Cam#7 06-22-2012 12:18 PM

Absolutely love it !!!! If the Z/28 has to wait till Gen6, this is CAM#8.

JMAN311 06-22-2012 12:22 PM

That concept rendering is awesome. I've had it in my mind that the ZL1 is temporary, and I plan to trade it in on the 2nd model year of the new 6th gen. If the car looks anything like that rendering I can't wait.

I'll Take your ZL1. :) I'm just down the road from ya.

Nobody gives a crap about V8 engines if they drop the ball on styling. You can make a Yugo go fast, but there is little to be done for it in the way of its looks.

That top concept looks like a bar of soap with wheels while the bottom one is alright, I guess. Either way, neither of them really scream Camaro.

GM is doing the same thing as Ford, but they're both going to lose a lot of enthusiasts by stripping the Mustang and Camaro of their American styling cues to cater towards an audience that has totally different tastes than us. If what you post is true, then I'll be heavily disappointed. If, however, it ends up looking like the render in the first post then you can sign me up, because that thing is sweet.
