Are 1LE's that rare?
I'll be in the market for a 2014 1LE next summer, so have obviously spent every spare minute on this site :smiling1:
Between this site, cars.com, ebay, and others...the 1LE's asking prices seem very far off from KBB...by 10-20%...or $4-$8K higher than KBB private party value. I see a few out there, but are they really that rare that they're selling for way over KBB value? The only thing I can't see online is how much they're actually selling for...just the asking price. |
Well, the '13 1LE's are even more rare (cigarette).
|
I live here in Naples, Fl and I am sure there are probably some here but I havent seen any except for mine of course, so I do think they are few and far between...
|
Saw a LE at the dealership this morning for $45k. pretty much what they go for. Have you considered buying a used garage queen and adding the LE package yourself? You can buy a whole kit from GM. You should consider it if you're desperate to save a buck.
|
They are all over Indy. Not rare around here at all.

Not desperate to save a buck, just wondering if that's what they go for. If that's what they go for, that's what I'll have to pay.
It'll be a second weekend vehicle, so in no rush to get one and will wait for the right deal. It's just the first vehicle I've ever looked for that the asking price is so far over KBB value. Also looking to make it a road trip. Fly to where the car is and drive it home. Always wanted to do a cross country (or partial) roadtrip. |

I bought my 2013 brand new in Oct 2012, and paid $41K for a 2SS with NPP and Heritage Grille. |

I live in Los Angeles. Only seen 1 or 2 on the road ever since they re-introduced the 1le's. But every time I go to a dealer I see 1 or 2 on the lot so it might just be that people aren't buying them here. I've also heard they're going out of production in 2016. If thats true, they'll be rare soon enough.
|
Depends on what you consider "rare" From what I can tell, the 13's that sell on this site move in less than a week mostly. Unless it's Yellow.

From the responses so far, it seems pretty normal that they're going for above KBB value. Just what I wanted to know, thanks! |

It's weird. Aside from car shows, I've only seen 2 others on the road or at a dealership... but then there are 3 at work (mine plus 2). Having said that, one of the guys at work ordered one after seeing mine. I see more ZL1s than 1LEs. I wonder if the manual only is a deterrent for some buyers. When I bought mine, only 1 dealership in the area knew what it was or had allocation... which I think contributes to how few are in my area.
|
I have a yellow 1ss 1LE 2013. It's 1 of only 28 Made :) That's pretty rare.

My 1le is same as yours and same color except mine is a 2015, I will be anxious too see how many in yellow were made for the 2015 year. I would say it will be pretty close to yours..:thumb: |

Inferno Orange Metallic would be a rare/limited production color. Only used in year one then discontinued.

1LEs account for 2% of all Camaro sales.

1 of 64 2013 yellow 2SS 1LEs. I live in North Dallas and drive frequently to Austin. I have only seen 3 other 1LEs ever, 1 2013 and 2 2014s. Never seen one at a dealership except the one where I found mine.
|
Here in the CA bay area, I have never seen another on the road, and I drive a lot (2-3k miles per month). I have only ever come across 2 ZL1's one being at the track.
|
We have most of the 1LE's in Indiana. There is at least 3 in the Cicero area.
I was sitting at hooters a couple weeks ago and saw my exact same car pull into a parking space right outside my window. |
Most dealers I talked to dont even want to discount a 1LE because they know they will get sticker for them, until the 20% discount came and went...
|
I have seen about 6 in the San Diego area, but for every (1) 1LE I see, I see 15 V6 Camaro's...
|
There are a lot where I live. Neat car but buy a ZL1. Unless your waiting for the 2016 with the LT4 motor in it. Less weight and a lot more HP.

5th gen camaro rare? unless you have the COPO dont even bother, haahahahahahaahahah:lol::lol::lol:

My 13' is 1 of 20...funny thing is my co worker has the exact same car only with the 2SS
|
It's not about rarity. KBB just does not recognize the importance (value) of this package, and rather treats it like any other option (like those 21" wheels, etc.).

Can't wait to be an official member! Hopefully that 20% off deal comes around again when the '16's are released! |
