It's been a while since I've logged in. I'm looking at C8s and info on them was still in the rumor stage when I last looked at the ZL1s. I'm leaning toward the C8, but a ZL1 remains tempting, since I can order one and have it within a couple months and the bugs have been worked out. Can't say that about the C8.

I'd pay an extra $500 for a 3 miler, especially an M6. A lot of hidden damage can be done in the first 10 miles with an a-hole behind the wheel, including but not limited to...
  1. WOT without engine-oil or even coolant warmup
  2. Over-revving prior to break in
  3. M6 mis-shifts and gear/synchro grinding
  4. Undetectable curb and speed bump impacts

A ZL1 needs proper break-in for long life and max power.

Its a car. Run it dont worry about it. They make them every day. The C8 can be had for sticker. i have been looking. Not sure how you can really cross shop the new Vette against the Camaro anyhow. Even the ZL1. If you even remotely think you are a Vette person, dont get a Camaro. You will just kick yourself every time you get in it. You can buy a new vette for ZL1 money. They are out there. The new vette is simply amazing.

Its worth mentioning that my car had almost 200 miles on it when I bought it. It was transferred between dealers almost that same distance total. When I went through the gauges I also saw the mileage per gallon numbers and it was pretty good. Reading that I was confident it hadn't been abused. It was at 18MPG for the "400" mile reading. Thats why with only 200 on it, I was not worried about it being abused.

14 miles? oof. prob 13.5 miles of rev limiter burnouts and .5 miles of donuts.

Wow...This may be one of the things Canada actually has better than the USA in terms of ZL1's. My 2020 ZL1 had 3 Kilometers on it and everyone on the lots had either 3 or 4 Kilometers (Not miles)

If Im paying for new I want new. If something had 20kms on it its been run and not new.

I bought my first SS new with 300 miles on it. Had been at the dealer in Raleigh for 6 months. It certainly made it to 50k miles mostly trouble free before i wrecked it.

While I understand the want to be picky (especially at 60k price point) showing concern about 14 miles is pretty silly to me.

Very silly... 14 miles. I bought a brand new Wrangler that just got taken in by a dealer with 50 miles.

You are WAY TOO PICKY. :bonk:

Do you think someone drove your ZL1 cold in 1st gear hitting the rev limiter for the whole 14 miles? :smiling1:

I bought a 2008 BMW M3 vert 6 speed with the 8,300 redline V8 with 72,000 miles on it. Even with the specter of the "bearing" issue, and people prolly being concerned that the clutch was mistreated and the 2nd gear syncro would be toast, it was FINE. I sold it with a cross-country trip and 94,000 miles on it, in perfect shape - oh wait, the DVD navigation was sometimes finicky.

Also see 2009 BMW 135i 6 speed with 400 miles, 2008 Z4 3.0i 6 speed with 80,000 miles, 2012 Merc C63 with 51,000 miles, etc. No probs whatsoever. :noidea:

Buy it and have a beer already! :happy0180:

I test drove my ZL1 starting on a Friday and brought it back on Monday. Had I not bought it, it would have been still for sale with way more than 3 miles on it. I promise I babied it all weekend.:laughabove:
