2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 to Have Camaro ZL1–Slapping 600-Plus Horsepower - Future Cars
Only a month after the unveiling of the 550-plus-hp 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, word is leaking out that Ford will substantially advance the muscle-car wars with a 2013 Shelby GT500 making a pants-bursting 600-plus horsepower.
Our well-informed sources say the stratospheric output figure, which could be as high as 620 horses, is the result of boring out the current 5.4-liter V-8 to 5.8 liters and swapping the existing Eaton M112 supercharger for the same firm’s more-efficient and quieter TVS unit. This supercharger, with its four-lobe rotors, is the blower of choice for the Audi S4, Cadillac CTS-V, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and, interestingly, the Camaro ZL1.
The new model is, of course, still a long way off. Hell, the 2012 ZL1 that it’s intended to battle won’t go on sale for another 11 or so months.
I think the first thing we need to do is get people's phone numbers. People that do really want to start a car club and are commited. then find a way where we can all meet. Find the best time and date as well as location. I think a Sat or a Sunday would be best becasue thats when most people are off. We need to make sure this is something people want to do becasue we all do not want to waste our time. If people are serious than we need to collect a list and confirm that they will show up at the disered location. You had indicated the Harlingen Mall and thats not a problem, we just need to know that every one else is fine with that location.
PS The camaro is back and stronger than ever before, lets make it happen.
sure thing, congrates on ur new ride. i'm still waiting for other ppl to pm me ur the frist on. i was starting to get disappionted. but there is light at the end of this tunel. So, when is the best time for you to start our car club since ur first on the list.
ok to start things off lets say we have a frist meeting at the Harlingen mall for those of you who are near, next Saturday at like around Noon. no camaro needed to show up, but it is a only camaro car club. (you do need to paln to buy a camaro or have one that you are working on. all Gens are more than welcome, like i said Camaro Car Club, this is a family car club so please people NO brunouts and no racing on public streets, if we want to do that we have a track in Edinburg.)
things that you will need to think about are: the Name, days and times to meet, fundrasiers(to help all members fix thier cars), and one of the main things is a Officer Position you would like to manage.
