General Motors has eliminated the third shift at the Lansing Grand River, Michigan, plant that makes the Chevrolet Camaro, Cadillac ATS and Cadillac CTS. The move affects 810 hourly jobs and 29 salaried positions, effective Jan. 16.
The reason for the shift reduction was that GM had more than 100 days’ supply of all four nameplates as of Nov. 1, according to the Automotive News Data Center. More details inside.
